The Utah Highway Patrol has identified the victim of a crash last week at a southern Utah intersection as an Indiana man.

UHP Sgt. Todd Royce said Monday that 49-year-old Able Garcia Perez, of Bloomington, Ind., was driving east on State Route 21 about 6:20 p.m. last Thursday. Where SR-21 meets ST-130, in Minersville, his Honda collided with a Dodge pickup truck in the process of making a left turn.

Perez was not fully restrained by his seat belt, having used only the chest strap, UHP said.

A passenger in Perez's car escaped with minor injuries, as did the driver of the pickup truck.
