A man died after crashing Thursday evening in a Beaver County intersection.

The Utah Highway Patrol ha not released the 49-year-old man's identity.

About 6:20 p.m., he was driving east on State Route 21 and reached the intersection with State Route 130 in the town of Minersville. But a Dodge pickup truck, which was stopped at a stop sign, turned left onto SR-21 and pulled out in front of the man's Honda, according to UHP.

The Honda hit the front-left side of the Dodge and the Honda's driver, who troopers say only had a seat belt across his chest, died. The car was an older model that has separate seat belts: one that crosses the chest, and a second belt that goes over the lap, said UHP Sgt. Jason Cox.

The man's front passenger only had a chest restraint, too, and suffered minor to serious injuries, according to UHP. The Honda's backseat passenger was not restrained and suffered serious injuries, UHP added. Both were taken to Beaver Valley Hospital.

The Dodge went off the road and stopped against a hillside. Its driver, a male, was also unrestrained and suffered minor injuries. He was taken to Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City.
