A male passenger died Tuesday following a rollover crash in Bluffdale that left the female driver in critical condition, according to police.

The single-vehicle crash happened around 1:30 p.m. near 15300 S. Camp Williams Road, also known as Redwood Road, according to Saratoga Springs Police Chief Andrew Burton.

Burton said a woman was driving an SUV northbound and somehow lost control and rolled her vehicle. The driver, along with a male passenger, were taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Burton confirmed at 3 p.m. that the male passenger had died, while the driver remained in critical condition.

No other identifying information was released Tuesday.

Burton said Redwood Road was closed as officers investigated, trying to determine why the car rolled, and making an effort to reopen it before the evening commute.
