When the moon hits your eye, like a big pizza pie, that's amore. When someone calls to "confirm" your spouse's credit card pizza order, that a scam, eh?

The Heber City Police Department says scammers have been calling unsuspecting residents of the Wasatch Back mountain community, claiming their significant others have ordered pizza with a credit card that was "denied."

So, the caller asks for another card. Soon, the scammer has that card's number, some personal information to go with it — and you wait, and wait, for a pizza delivery that never comes.

No only does your yearning for that deep-dish meatlovers' pie go unmet, but you may have just delivered your hard-earned cash to a con artist.

Heber police advise you never to give out credit card numbers, or any other personal information, to a stranger on the telephone.
