A man was critically hurt Wednesday after rolling his vehicle off a Weber County road.

The 35-year-old man was driving west in Hooper on 4000 South, which curves south to become 5900 West. But when he reached the curve about 12:10 p.m., he went off the road and his car rolled down a small embankment, said Weber County Sheriff's Lt. Lane Findlay.

The man was thrown from the car during the rollover. An ambulance took him to a local hospital in critical condition, Findlay said.

The Utah Highway Patrol is helping deputies do a reconstruction of the crash. At this point, investigators do not know why the man went off the road.

He was the only person in the car.
