Spanish Fork, Utah • Food trucks in Spanish Fork may soon be able to set up their mobile kitchens around downtown.

The Daily Herald reports that the Spanish Fork City Council will discuss a proposed ordinance Tuesday that would allow food trucks to park on city-owned property.

Current regulations, which were adopted three years ago, dictate that food trucks must park on private property. City streets, parks and parking lots of city office buildings are off limits.

Community and Economic Development Director Dave Anderson says he would be surprised if the proposal doesn't pass.

Anderson says food trucks, however, would still have to park on private party outside of downtown.

A coalition representing downtown merchants say the trucks can help draw more traffic to downtown.
