A 27-year-old Layton man was booked into jail on Saturday, after he allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted his ex-girlfriend.

The ex-girlfriend went to the man's house on Friday to return a credit card of his, according to a jail probable cause statement. She had expected her ex to be at work, she later told police, but when she opened the front door, she saw him "out of the corner of her eye and he grabbed her," the PC statement reads.

The suspect then allegedly tried to duct tape the woman's hands together, and took her clothes off. He then sexually assaulted her, according to the jail documents.

The woman was able to leave the apartment after asking if she could check on a baby she was tending that she had left in her vehicle while she returned the card. The man told her that she could, but would not let her put her clothes back on, according to the jail document.

She wrapped a blanket around herself, left the home and drove away. After driving down the street, she stopped her car and called police to report the assault.

After the assault, the man text several people and told them that he "overdosed," according to the probable cause statement. Police went to the home, and found the man unconscious. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment before he was booked into the Davis County jail on suspicion of aggravated sexual assault, attempted rape, forcible sodomy and aggravated kidnapping.
