More than 3,700 Rocky Mountain Power customers in Taylorsville were without power Saturday morning after a vehicle struck a power pole.

Rocky Mountain crews had restored power to all but approximately 300 customers by early afternoon.

The Unified Police Department said a Nissan Pathfinder hit a pole about 6:15 a.m. at 2316 W. 5400 South and witnesses said they saw two males running away from the SUV.

Officers found marijuana and marijuana pipes inside the vehicle, according to UPD Detective Chuck Malm. The cause of the accident was under investigation Saturday and officers were working with the SUV's owner to locate the driver.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call UPD at 801-743-7000.
