Police say a 13-year-old Bountiful boy who went missing over the weekend has been found alive and well.

On Sunday, Bountiful police released a "missing and endangered" person alert for Sami Guesmi. Sunday evening, police reported that the teen had been spotted by a caller in the Millcreek area, who recognized him from photos published by the Tribune and other news organizations.

Unified Police officers found and the boy and returned him to the custody of his father.

Guesmi had been missing since about 4:30 p.m. Saturday. He had a meal at his father's restaurant at 355 S. Main St. in Bountiful, and then left the establishment.

How he got to Millcreek or what prompted his journey was under investigation, along with indications that he may have tried to attend a session of Salt Lake Comic Con.
