Salt Lake City police are looking for suspects in two separate, brazen street robberies.

Both incidents occurred Wednesday night. The first, at 9:19 p.m., involved a 24-year-old woman who was attacked from behind as she jogged near 6th Avenue and H Street.

Detectives say the woman was wearing headphones and did not hear the suspect approach. He put her in a chokehold, then took her cellphone before fleeing on a black BMX bicycle.

The assailant was described as a 6-foot white male, thin in build, in his mid-20s, with "scruffy" chin hair and wearing dark clothing and a black baseball cap backwards.

At 10:30 p.m., a teenage boy was walking along 1200 West and 700 North when he was confronted by a man with a handgun. This suspect, too, stole the victim's cellphone, then fled the scene on foot.

The gunman was described as a 5-foot-10 white male, medium in build, with light skin and slicked-back hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt with dark "Dickies" brand pants.
