New federal bankruptcy judge appointed to Utah bench

Kevin R. Anderson is the former standing Chapter 13 trustee for the state.

The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday appointed Kevin R. Anderson as a federal bankruptcy judge for the District of Utah.

Anderson was previously the Standing Chapter 13 Trustee for the District of Utah, a position he held for 17 years, according to a news release from the 10th Circuit Court.

Anderson earned his law degree from the J. Reubens Clark law School at Brigham Young University, where he graduated cum laude. After law school, he clerked for Judge David Naugle at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California, before going into private practice.

Kimball Mosier, Chief U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Utah, administered the oath to Anderson, who will have chambers in Salt Lake City.




The 10th Circuit, with administrative headquarters in Denver, Colorado, encompasses the states of Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah, and Wyoming.
