A North Ogden man was killed and his son injured in motorcycle-related accidents Sunday afternoon on Interstate 84 about 5 miles west of Morgan.

The Utah Highway Patrol reported that 53-year-old Kenneth Rash was riding westbound near mile marker 108 about 4 p.m. Sunday with his son, Christopher Rash, 36, of Ogden, riding on a second motorcycle nearby. As the two entered a curve, the elder Rash drifted off the right side of the road and hit a guardrail.

Rash was thrown across the left lanes, landing on the shoulder. UHP said the victim, who was not wearing a helmet, was dead at the scene.

The younger Rash laid down his bike and escaped with minor injuries.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
