Firefighters have contained a brush fire at Camp Williams that started Friday afternoon.

The blaze, at about 17800 South and Camp Williams Road (1550 West), was extinguished by Saturday afternoon. It burned on about 15 acres of land, which is mostly covered by sagebrush and trees.

Unified Fire Authority firefighters battled the fire on the ground and water was dropped on it from a helicopter.

The fire was sparked during a training exercise, according to the UFA.
