Police were looking for two suspects in an armed robbery of a downtown Salt Lake City motel.

Salt Lake City police Detective Dennis McGowan said a black man in his 20s, 5-foot-10, wearing a black bandana and black hooded sweatshirt emblazoned with "Cali-4-nia," entered the Rodeway Inn at 616 S 200 West about 3:50 a.m. Friday.

The suspect, who also had a possible "tear drop" type tattoo below his right eye, brandished a weapon — police would not say what kind — and took cash from the cash register till.

The suspect then ran out of the motel and jumped into a dark-colored Geo Metro and fled, with another black male behind the wheel.

No shots were fired and no one was injured.
