A school bus and a drilling rig collided in Iron County on Wednesday morning, but no children were aboard the bus.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said the male driver of the bus sustained minor injuries, while the operator of the drilling rig was unhurt.

Public safety dispatchers confirmed a 911 call reporting the crash came in at 8:40 a.m., from the intersection of the Minersville Highway (SR-130) and Mid Valley Road, in the town of Enoch.

Royce said the accident was under investigation, but initial indications were that the Iron County School District bus driver struck the drilling rig in the side, knocking it over.
