Some Utahns got a break from the heat Saturday on a giant slip 'n slide in downtown Salt Lake City. Participants could buy a one, three or unlimited slide pass to go down the 1,000 feet of padded vinyl on Main Street above North Temple. Salt Lake City-based Slide the City said it is donating a portion of the event proceeds to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain Area. A similar event is planned for Sept. 5 in Orem, according to Slide the City.
