Police on Monday were seeking the public's help in locating a suspect who held up a west Salt Lake City convenience store.

Detectives say the suspect — a 5-foot-6, 170-pound Latino, wearing a black, flat-brimmed hat, black T-shirt, back athletic shorts and dark green shoes — entered the Maverik store at 615 S. 200 W. about 4:15 a.m.

Indicating he had a firearm, the suspect then demanded and received cash from the store's clerk. The man then fled the store, running north.

Arriving police were unable to find him and asked that anyone with information call SLCPD at 801-799-3000, or anonymously text 274637 with the keyword TIPSLCPD.
