Utah law requires current photo identification be shown at a polling place. That includes a Utah driver license; an ID card issued by the state or an agency of the United States; a Utah permit to carry a concealed weapon; a U.S. passport; or valid U.S. military ID card.

It is not too late to register for the primary. Residents can register at a polling place. The primary election day registration requires two forms of ID. Beyond those listed above, those forms can include a bank statement, utility bill, birth certificate or college transcript.

Would-be voters can register for the Nov. 3 general election by Oct. 5 at slco.org/clerk.

Registered voters can sign up for Salt Lake County's "Permanent Vote by Mail Program" at slco.org/clerk.
