A woman died and her husband was seriously hurt Sunday after being thrown from their motorcycle in a Summit County Crash.

The Utah Highway Patrol identified them as Perry and Stephanie Smith of Henderson, Nev. Both were 57.

The couple were riding a motorcycle east on Interstate 80 when a car hit them near mile post 185, a mile east of Castle Rock, according to the UHP. The crash occurred about 11:15 a.m.

The motorcycle went down and the man and woman were thrown from it. The woman died at the scene; a helicopter took the man to the hospital, according to UHP. Both of them were wearing helmets.

Neither of the two people in the car were hurt.
