Unified Police have identified the man who died in a Kearns crash as Eric Douglas Forney, 34.

Forney died after reportedly taking off from a fender-bender Saturday evening, then crashing into fences, cars, a light pole and a garage.

He allegedly rear-ended another driver, but took off when he realized the other driver was calling the police, said Unified Police Lt. Manfred Lassig. Driving through the neighborhood, he "hit two fences, two cars, a light pole and then a house" near 5800 S. Tressler Drive (4480 West), striking the garage shortly before 6 p.m., Lassig said.

Forney died shorlty after paramedics arrived. Investigators suspect he died because of injuries sustained from the multiple crashes, Lassig said.
