A Clearfield woman has been sentenced to 3½ years in federal prison on charges of embezzling from two employers.

U.S. District Judge Dale Kimball sentenced Teri Ann Jarvis, 41, after her guilty plea to one count each of mail fraud, wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. He ordered her to pay $846,739 to Positive Power of Ogden and $42,958 to Bronco Fence Co. of Kaysville.

Jarvis admitted she forged checks made payable to her and used the money to pay her mortgage, car payments and credit card bills.

She also admitted she used a false identity at Bronco Fence to hide her true identity and that she caused the company's merchant services provider to send false refunds into her personal bank account.

Kimball ordered Jarvis to report in January of 2016 to begin serving her sentence.

The case was investigated by IRS Criminal Investigation agents, the Weber County Sheriff's Office and Kaysville police.
