Police scoured a southwest Salt Lake City neighborhood late Thursday morning after a bank robbery, but the suspect remained at large.

Salt Lake City police Detective Dennis McGowan said the suspect — described as a thin Latino male, about 30 years old, wearing a "U of U" baseball cap, tan button-up shirt, black undershirt, dark jeans and sunglasses — entered the Wells Fargo Bank branch at 1710 S. Redwood Road about 9:30 a.m.

Carrying a backpack, he approached a teller and verbally demanded money. She complied and the suspect, who did not show a weapon, fled on foot.

He may have been seen jumping into a pickup truck nearby, but police had not confirmed that report.
