South Ogden police are investigating the death of an 18-month-old girl run over by a car in an apartment complex parking lot.
In a statement, SOPD noted that the accident occurred about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Canyon Rim Apartments, near 6045 S. Ridgeline Drive.
The toddler was rushed to Ogden Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
SOPD, noting the investigation was ongoing, did not identify the driver.
Police also did not release the girl's name, but a GoFundMe site set up by her family to defray medical and funeral costs identified her as Lexie Smith, daughter of Rhett and Melissa Smith.
Funeral services for the girl are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the LDS Stake Center, 1350 E. 200 N St., in Beaver.
