Bomb experts were called to a vacant Millcreek home Monday morning after a woman cleaning out the garage reportedly finding a suspicious package.

Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell said the woman walked into the department's Millcreek substation about 8:30 a.m. to alert officers to the item at 3521 S. 1200 E.

UPD and Unified Fire personnel evacuated the homes immediately surrounding the residence as a bomb squad arrived on-scene about 8:30 a.m. to check the package. By 10 a.m., however, the package was deemed to be harmless and the evacuation was lifted and scene cleared.
