On Saturday, Utah families walked in the footsteps of the 1847 pioneers during the 11th annual Commemorative Encampment hike. The 5-mile walk followed Emigration Creek through Salt Lake City neighborhoods. The group stopped at points of interest and heard stories about how life was during pioneer times. The hike ended at First Encampment Park (1700 S. 500 East), near the site where the pioneers camped in the Salt Lake Valley on July 22, 1847.
