A man was reportedly stabbed and hit with a crowbar Tuesday in downtown Salt Lake City.

About 9:45 p.m., the man walked into the lobby of the Hampton Inn at 425 S. 300 West with a stab wound to his abdomen, according to the Salt Lake City police. He said five or six people jumped him between the Rescue Mission and the Maverick gas station on 400 West and 500 South.

"He said he was stabbed and then hit on the head with a crowbar," according to the police watch log. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers could not find where the alleged attack took place.
