Builders at Holmes Homes don't bat an eye when it comes to showcasing their home that starts in the low-$400,000s up against multi-million dollar homes in the 2015 Salt Lake Parade of Homes.

Their home, called The Palisades, features everything new and exciting in home construction this year — including features not found on much more expensive homes. It's just one of four they have entered into the Parade this year.

"We're doing some exceptionally exciting things with our production homes that no one else is doing right now," says Jason Nageli, a spokesman for Holmes Homes. "We're setting the trends right now with features like NanaWall bifold doors — we have two of them in a house of ours right now. And we're really tricking out our bathrooms too."

Each year during the Salt Lake Parade of Homes, dozens of homes across the Salt Lake Valley showcase the best and newest home construction and ideas. The homes, which range from $100,000 to multi-million dollar estates, cover a broad swath of sizes and budgets. Nageli says there's something for everyone at Holmes Homes.

"We call it setting the bar for the new and creative products when it comes to homebuilding," he says.

The Palisades model, which features three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms in 2,039 finished square feet, is an efficient, attractive home that Holmes Homes says should appeal to buyers looking to grow with their new neighborhood. The main floor master bedroom features an exceptionally large walk-in closet, his and hers sinks in the master bathroom and an attached powder room. The large, open kitchen with a center island is equally accessible from the porch, living or dining rooms — an exceptional standard for usable space and natural light.

"Our homes are meant to showcase our owners' lifestyles. Having an open floorplan with accessible living spaces is what we're all about," Nageli says.

The three-floor floor plan also features two bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs, and a future plan for a bedroom and storage space downstairs.

Nageli is equally proud about the value and quality construction found in Holmes Homes' three other Parade homes. For example, the Sunrise, which is a three-plex aimed at first-time homebuyers or right-sizing owners, is an efficient use of space and area. The 1,660 square feet of finished space is highlighted by three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and an unfinished basement that can add 700 additional square feet to growing families.

"The Sunrise is just one of the many Holmes Homes that maximizes useable space and makes owning a Parade home affordable for many people," he says.

That feature-rich idea can be scaled up in size too. Holmes Homes' largest model in the Parade this year, the 4-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom Hannah model, features the same smart dynamic found in the other homes, but with 2,458 finished square feet.

That home — with two large family rooms, walk-in closets for three of the four bedrooms, including the master bedroom and open kitchen and dining room — is an attractive choice for families and buyers looking for amenities in a home that can cost twice as much.

"We're happy to deliver value to our buyers, now and in the future. When we make a home at Holmes Homes, we're making a home to last," Nageli says.

That sentiment extends to the McKenzie models, an attractive, flexible home that fits any buyer's needs. The 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home features 2,501 square feet in a layout that appeals to families and busy buyers who want the most out of their homes.

The 3-car garage and attached mudroom offer easy access to an open kitchen and dining room, and spacious family room. The large upstairs bedrooms feature walk-in closets and two bathrooms upstairs, including a master bathroom with dual sinks and a wonderfully accommodating bathtub. The unfinished basement features the capacity for two additional bedrooms and an additional family room/entertainment room.

"We're really excited to bring our new ideas and concepts to the Parade this year," Nageli says. "The best part of building homes is building communities, and that's something we think Holmes Homes does very well.
