Bountiful police say a man burglarized about a dozen people at an assisted living home.

The afternoon of July 1, the suspect allegedly spent time going from room to room and stole property that was "easy to get, like money laying around or jewelry, credit cards, that sort of thing," said Bountiful Assistant Police Chief Ed Biehler.

The burglaries occurred at the Legacy House of Bountiful at 79 E. Center Street.

The residents of those rooms were either asleep or out, Biehler said.

The staff may have initially thought he was visiting a family member or a friend, Biehler said. But eventually, the staff confronted the man and he took off. They chased him about a block and a half before they lost him.
