Salt Lake City residents from diverse communities are invited to apply for the annual Leadership Utah Fellowship sponsored by the mayor's office of diversity & human rights and the Salt Lake City Human Rights Commission.

The aim of Leadership Utah is to educate an emerging group of future leaders. The fellowship sponsors one person to attend the Salt Lake Chamber's 10-month program designed to enhance participants' community and business leadership skills.

The fellowship recipient will become familiar with current processes, programs and issues in the community, establish connections with current businesses and gain insight into the field of civic leadership.

"We're very pleased to be able to offer this excellent learning opportunity for a future leader from our community," said Mayor Ralph Becker. "The fellowship provides extremely valuable exposure and experience on critical topics including health care, crime and law enforcement, education, environmental issues and much more."

The application deadline is Friday, July 17, 2015.

Applicants must be residents of Salt Lake City and members of an under-represented community. For more information contact Chelsea Eddy at 801-535-7110 or at chelsea.eddy@slcgov.com.
