Police were hunting for a female person of interest after the body of a man was found Monday morning in his southeast Salt Lake City home.

Salt Lake City police said the remains of Edward Walker, 57, were found after officers responded just after 6 a.m. on Monday to a request for a welfare check at 1459 S. Roberta St. (250 East).

Detectives declined to release details, but said that Walker's death was being handled as a homicide.

Investigators said they wanted to question 34-year-old Jill Rae Montoya, 34, who is known to frequent the area of 1300 South and State Street.

Montoya has a number of convictions, dating from 2008, for crimes that include aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, possession of personal information with intent to be another person, attempted theft by receiving, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple assault.
