The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a Logan man and woman who died when their SUV drifted off an Interstate 80 overpass, collided with a guard rail and then rolled.

Trooper Jim Stewart said Richard Beaumont, 38, was driving the eastbound 1995 Ford Explorer near Wells, Nev., about 1 a.m. on Sunday when the accident occurred. Both Beaumont and a passenger, 20-year-old Dawha Loughney, were ejected and died at the scene.

Stewart said it did not appear either of the victims was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

A 1-year-old girl, though not properly secured in her child safety seat, survived being ejected without injury. The infant was placed in the custody of the Nevada Department of Child Family Services.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation Tuesday.
