Police are investigating after a woman's body was found inside her South Salt Lake apartment Monday night.

South Salt Lake police spokesman Gary Keller said that officers were called to unit, near 2900 South and 200 East, about 8:15 p.m. after worried relatives sought welfare check. They told police that they had not heard from the woman for several days.

Keller identified her as 38-year-old Bhoti Subba, from Nepal.

The case is still under investigation, with an autopsy scheduled for Wednesday, Keller added.

As is often the case in apparent unattended deaths, detectives initially characterized the death as "suspicious."

"It was untimely, and she had no known medical problems, so until we know better, that's what we're calling it," Keller said.

Nonetheless, Keller said there were no signs of forced entry to the apartment, and he confirmed detectives are not at this time seeking any suspects.
