Bountiful police are seeking the public's help in locating the car and driver that struck a woman and fled the scene on Sunday night.

The 57-year-old Bountiful woman was found lying in the road at 245 S. 500 West at about midnight Sunday by passersby who notified police.

The woman, who suffered critical injuries, is hearing-impaired and was unable to provide much information about what occurred, Bountiful Assistant Police Chief Ed Biehler said Monday.

"We had a hard time getting a first name," Bielher said, adding that hospital staff later were able to provide investigators with a full name and that the victim's sister was subsequently located.

No witnesses to the accident had been identified as of Monday afternoon.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Sergeant Killian at killian@bountifulutah.gov or 801-298-6016.
