A suspected human-caused wildfire on the Great Salt Lake's Stansbury Island has been contained, and crews on Tuesday were mopping up hot spots and watching for flareups.

The 38-acre blaze on the island's south side did not damage any structures and was limited to grasslands. It was declared contained as of 3 p.m. Monday.

No injuries were reported.

Bureau of Land Management spokeswoman Teresa Rigby said it was initially thought the fire may have been sparked by lightning, but meteorological data did not show electrical storm activity at the time the fire broke out early Monday morning.

Investigators are now looking at a possible human cause.
