Officials are urging motorists to plan ahead for construction-caused delays this weekend on Interstate 15 at the Point of the Mountain and in Bountiful.

Beginning Friday at 4 p.m., southbound I-15 in Davis County will be restricted to three lanes near 400 North in Bountiful for concrete-barrier work. The restriction is scheduled to remain in place until Saturday at 4 p.m.

Also, northbound I-15 is scheduled to be reduced to three lanes near 2600 South in Bountiful for bridge work. It is scheduled to remain in place through Monday at 6 a.m.

Because of that work in Davis County, the Utah Department of Transportation says drivers should consider using alternative routes such as Legacy Parkway.

Also, a new lane split is scheduled to be put in place on northbound I-15 at the Point of the Mountain on the Salt Lake County-Utah County line on Sunday morning.

It will divide northbound lanes into two sections while crews reconstruct center lanes of the freeway.

Drivers planning to exit at 14600 South will need to stay in the right lanes at the split.

To help control traffic during the lane split, UDOT will turn on the ramp meter at the northbound State Road 92 on-ramp to I-15 in Lehi.

Construction schedules depend on the weather and are subject to change. More information is available on UDOT's free traffic app, or at udottraffic.utah.gov.
