South Salt Lake police were looking for two knife-wielding suspects who slashed and robbed a man late Wednesday night.

Public safety dispatchers confirmed a 911 call reporting the attack came in just before 11 p.m. from the area of 2525 South and 900 West.

Police learned that the victim had been assaulted when the two male suspects came out of the darkness as he was taking out the trash from a local business. They demanded cash, a struggle ensued and the victim was slashed across the stomach before the suspects fled.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No further details, including suspect descriptions, were immediately available.
