The popular Downtown Farmers Market began its 2015 summer season Saturday with more than 250 vendors of produce, food and arts and craft wares.

Organized by the Downtown Alliance, since 1992 the market draws thousands of people to Pioneer Park each week.

It will operate every Saturday through Oct. 24 at the park, 350 S. 300 West.

New this year is the Education Station, where local chefs, master preservers and nutritionists will teach market-goers how to prepare meals from market ingredients.
