A Utah woman was killed Saturday in a two-vehicle crash near Riverton, the Unified Police Department said.

The woman was identified as Yesica Ramos, 39, of Riverton.

UPD Detective Ken Hanson said Ramos was driving south on Mountain View Corridor at about 5 a.m. and tried to turn left onto 13400 South when her Honda was hit by a westbound truck. Ramos likely was killed instantly, he said.

The driver of the truck, an 18-year-old Herriman resident, was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

The accident is under investigation.
