A Highland teenager has died from injuries she suffered in a Memorial Day traffic accident at an intersection near the border between the cities of Lehi and Highland.

Maylee Anderson, 16, died Friday, according to posts by her family on support sites online.

Anderson was driving a passenger car with her mother on 11800 North about 7 p.m. on Monday, police have said.

The car was "T-boned" on the driver's side after it turned onto Highland Blvd. and into the path of a northbound Jeep, police said.

Anderson suffered critical injuries; her mother, Christine Anderson, 42, was seriously injured.

Maylee Anderson's condition fluctuated over four days and she died Friday morning, according to her family's posts on Facebook and on GoFundMe, where the family is accepting donations via the "Maylee and Christine medical fund."

"Her angelic influence and her infectious laugh were felt by all, and anyone who met her could agree that the depth of her soul was fathoms deeper than anyone could comprehend," wrote Maylee Anderson's brother, Ben. "I know she is at peace now, and I am too, knowing I'll see her in the life after this."
