After a long stretch of cool weather, summer temperatures have arrived in northern Utah: Salt Lake City hit its warmest day of the year Saturday.

Salt Lake City Interntional Airport reported a high on Saturday of 83 degrees, the warmest its been so far this year, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service is predicting highs in the 80s on Saturday and Sunday — and maybe 90 in a few locations — along the Wasatch Front, with overnight lows in the 50s and 60s.

Skies will be partly cloudy in much of northern Utah but the chance of precipitation is slight, according to the weather service.

St. George and Zion National Park will be mostly sunny on the weekend. The thermometer is expected to rise to the upper 90s on Saturday and Sunday, while lows should be in the upper 60s.

The air quality will vary throughout the state. The Utah Division of Air Quality is predicting the air quality will be good, or healthy for breathing, in Box Elder, Cache and Tooele counties on Saturday and Sunday.

In Carbon, Duchesne and Uintah counties the air quality is expected to be good on Saturday but moderate, which is one step lower, on Sunday.

In other counties — including Davis, Duchesne, Salt Lake, Utah, Washington and Weber — the air quality is rated moderate for both Saturday and Sunday.
