The body of a teenage boy was found Thursday in Corner Canyon near Draper, police said.

Sgt. Chad Carpenter said the teen was a student at Corner Canyon High School and that grief counselors were made available at the school Thursday evening.

The boy was identified and his parents were notified but his name was not immediately released.

Carpenter said police received a call at 3:45 p.m. about the body and the medical examiner's office was called in. No other information was released about the scene or the investigation, other than that there was no apparent signs of foul play.

In an unrelated case, Iron County authorities announced Thursday that they are working to identify a body found May 22 in a location south of Summit, which is about five miles southwest of Parowan.

The body, that of a man in the advanced stages of decomposition, was sent to the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy, the Iron County Sheriff's Office reported.

An exact cause of death is still pending, the sheriff's office said in a news release. Detectives are working with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to obtain a positive identity and possible reasons the man might have ended up in Iron County, according to the release.
