A man remained in jail Wednesday for allegedly attacking a North Salt Lake woman after he asked to help mow her lawn.

The 20-year-old man, also of North Salt Lake, was booked into the Davis County jail on suspicion of first-degree felony aggravated kidnapping, first-degree felony aggravated burglary and third-degree felony aggravated assault, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Police responding Saturday to a call of a fight in progress found the alleged attacker was gone. But officers observed that the victim had visible marks on her neck, abrasions to her hands, elbows, and bruising to both wrist, according to the affidavit.

The woman told police that after the man offered to help with yardwork, he pushed his way into her home, began to choke her and said that he could "kill her with the twist of the hand," according to the affidavit.

The woman told police she fled out the back door when the man went to lock the front door.

But he chased her down the street and threw her onto the ground, according to the affidavit.

Soon after, another woman pulled up in a vehicle, got the man off the woman and the two drove away.

Based on a description of the vehicle, including that it had disability plates, police arrested the man at his home.

The victim did not require medical treatment for her injuries, according to police.

Formal charges had not been filed as of Wednesday.
