A weed-spraying truck involved in a crash leaked an unspecified amount of herbicide on a stretch of southcentral Utah's State Road 24 Wednesday morning.

The Sevier County Sheriff's Office said the 7 a.m. crash involved the truck and another vehicle just south of the Sigurd overpass. One of the vehicles briefly caught fire before flames were doused. No serious injuries were reported.

However, the affected area was shut down while hazardous materials workers responded to clean up the chemical.

Deputies said traffic was being diverted onto Highway 118 through the town of Sigurd until wreckage was cleared the the spill addressed. By 10 a.m., normal traffic had resumed.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
