Utah's pattern of alternating pulses of rain and thunderstorms, clouds and sunshine, will continue through the midweek from its northern borders to the southern redrocks and high deserts.

As the Liam Gallagher of the band Oasis lyrically opined, "Some might say that sunshine follows the thunder . . . that we will find a brighter day."

Rain and thunderclaps were expected morning, afternoon and evening on Wednesday, repeating the cycle forecast for Tuesday along the Wasatch Front. High temperatures both days were pegged in the upper-60s for the region.

Farther south, in Utah's Dixie, a wet Tuesday was to be followed by dissipating cloud cover giving way to sunny skies on Wednesday, with highs in the mid-80s — a degree or two warmer than Tuesday's forecast.

The Utah Division of Air Quality graded breathability at all of its monitoring stations as in the "green," or healthy zone through the midweek period.

The Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website, meanwhile, reported only mold at "moderate" levels on its pollen index as of Tuesday; all other allergens were negligible.
