A teenager was seriously hurt after being thrown from his horse in Utah County.

The 19-year-old was riding the horse at the Cedar Fort rodeo grounds Sunday afternoon when he was thrown and knocked unconscious. The Utah County Sheriff's Office received a call about the incident at 3:25 p.m.

The teen was out for several minutes, according to a sheriff's office news release. Initially, he was having trouble breathing, but Cedar Fort and Unified Fire Authority medical personnel stabilized him.
