A man died after he was thrown from his pickup truck in Capitol Reef National Park.

Michael W. Anderson, 54, was driving east on State Route 24 on Sunday when he reached a right-hand bend about 2:35 a.m. He went off the road and overcorrected, going off the road again about seven miles east of Torrey, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

His Chevrolet pickup truck went up an embankment and rolled. Anderson was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the truck, UHP reported in a news release. He was killed on impact.

Troopers are investigating alcohol as a possible factor in the crash.
