A Salt Lake City woman run down by her boyfriend was upgraded to serious condition on Friday. He remained behind bars, charged with numerous felonies.

Salt Lake City police Detective Cody Lougy said the 25-year-old woman had been in critical condition immediately after the 5 p.m. Thursday incident. She suffered two broken legs, as well as head and internal injuries, after the 29-year-old suspect allegedly culminated a domestic argument by deliberately driving into a group of people that included his girlfriend.

The woman's brother, also in the group that had gathered on the street outside a home at 165 W. Mead Avenue (about 2000 South), also was hit, but he escaped with minor injuries.

The suspect sped from the scene, but was soon located and arrested in neighboring South Salt Lake.

He was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of two second-degree felony counts of aggravated assault, three second-degree felony counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, as well as misdemeanor traffic and drivers' license violations.
