It's as if Utah's weekend weather is paying homage to beloved bluesman B.B. King's "Come Rain or Come Shine."

King, who died this week at age 89, combined a smooth, electric guitar string-bending style with a resonant, full-bodied voice to remind us all that, "Days may be cloudy or sunny, we're in or we're out of the money, but I'm with you always, I'm with you rain or shine."

Thank God — and a discography preserved on vinyl and digitally — for that.

Along the Wasatch Front this weekend, why not enjoy sunny interludes between the scattered rain and thunderclouds expected to fire up an mp3 or pop in a CD to go "Ridin' with the King?" With breezes of 10-20 mph and high temperatures in the mid-60s both Friday and Saturday, you'll "just love the way that he sings ... ridin' with the king."

Or, you may be in Utah's Dixie, with rain, thunder and sunshine taking turns as daytime highs flirt with the 70s this weekend. Perfect for listening in on King's conversation with his guitar, Lucille, as the sky growls and lightning cracks.

"Look out, Lucille," he says. "Sounds really good, I think I'll try one more, alright?"

Always, B.B. Always.
