A natural gas leak forced residents of a southeast Salt Lake City triplex housing complex to evacuate for more than an hour early Friday morning.

Salt Lake City Fire Department spokesman Jasen Asay said no injuries were reported, though paramedics did check out residents of the units at 972 E. Garfield (about 1900 South).

Firefighters were called to the address at 2:58 a.m., and determined that one of the occupants had left a gas stove on, leading to high levels of natural gas on scene.

In cooperation with Questar crews, firefighters cleared the triplex and then vented the complex. Residents were allowed to return to their homes about 4:30 a.m.
