South Salt Lake police were seeking the public's help Tuesday in bringing a bank robber to justice.

SSLPD spokesman Gary Keller said the suspect — a white male, 35-40 years old, normal build, wearing glasses, a black ball cap, gray long-sleeved shirt, black pants and black shoes — approached a teller at the Brighton Bank Branch at 93 W. 3300 South, about 10 a.m.

He handed her a note demanding money and claiming to have a firearm.

No weapon was seen, but the clerk nonetheless complied with his demands and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect then fled on foot, heading east toward Main Street.

Responding officers were unable to locate him.

Keller asked anyone with information on this case to call SSLPD at 801-840-4000.
